Giant

A small, unassuming bistro with a humility that understates its calibre, Giant is a delight of a restaurant. The menu is simple but finessed, with clever and creative touches that raise it to an apex beyond its peers. There is an emphasis on seafood (though this is far from a “seafood restaurant”), and a plethora of global influences throughout their small-plate-focused offerings.

The wine list is creative and interesting, with a real emphasis in food-friendly bottles that will show off the wide variety of flavours on the dinner menu. The real sin would be to come without enough friends to help try as many dishes as possible, though I have to admit I’m often tempted to return solo just for more of the crab salad on waffle fries with a glass of Champagne…
