Everything in Ciel Bleu (“blue sky”) is high: you dine in a luxurious setting on the 23rd floor of the Hotel Okura in Amsterdam South (the best restaurant view in Amsterdam, by the way). The level of the kitchen is also high, and it is not a surprise that they have gained two Michelin stars.
Bring a well-filled wallet, because the prices are not exactly low either, but then you'll also get a truly unforgettable evening with impeccable service, but without stiffness; loose and friendly, Amsterdam-style. The parade of dishes is a feast both for the eyes and the tongue.
For the foodies: if you want a rare glimpse into the workings of a two Michelin-starred team, reserve the Chef’s Table overlooking the heart of the kitchen – a true treat, alongside exclusive vintages from the award-winning wine list.
About the Ciel Bleu Wine List
A full flavour experience is key at Ciel Bleu when it comes to wine. This wine list offers a selection of more than 450 fine wines, all of which the sommelier staff have personally selected, taking international influences and the seasons as their inspiration.
The list displays a great vintage depth, and you will need some time to process this book. Vertical offerings from several top producers, such as the third Cru Classé Château Palmer, Margaux, Gaja, and great wines of the Alsace from Trimbach with numerous Clos Sainte-Hune. Also an impressive selection of classical regions including Bordeaux and Bourgogne, as well as sought-after New World wines from exquisite winemakers. Take your time.
