About Chez Fifi

Chez Fifi is a very busy and popular upscale French bistro on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, described as the owners’ “love letter” to Paris and San Sebastián. Since opening in winter 2024 it has quickly become a hot reservation, with the experienced team winning the Best Newcomer award at Star Wine List of the Year New York in the spring of 2025.

Downstairs is a wood-panelled main dining room, whereas upstairs, you'll find an art-filled lounge. The menu mixes French classics such as filet mignon au poivre (and don’t miss those frites maison, even if you go for the side salad too) as well as Basque dishes, all following the season.

The Chez Fifi wine program is impressive for a newcomer, hence the award, and includes plenty of grower Champagnes and some famous names, with a French-Spanish focus. There are many unique points here. You can find Alsace and Jura (including very old vintages) and the wine prices are not too steep by New York standards.
