Auberge de la Madeleine Wine List

About Auberge de la Madeleine

This fine-dining restaurant, the brainchild of chef Jean-René Pelletier, perfectly illustrates what happens when a chef-owner is equally passionate about both food and wine. Jean-René is a well-known character in the region, and you’ll often see him visiting vineyards and attending local wine events.

Tucked away on a quiet side street in the heart of the village of Gétigné, in the Vignoble Nantais, it’s an unmissable gourmet stop for anyone exploring the Muscadet vineyards, the Italian-inspired neoclassicism of Lemot’s villa and park, and the nearby medieval town of Clisson.

The wine list spans all the key French regions, beginning with grower Champagnes and other sparkling wines from the Loire and Jura. Local producers make up the lion’s share, though the Chenin Blanc selection truly steals the show. Expect to find numerous star names from the organic, biodynamic and natural schools. Service is both professional and personable, and the chef’s cheerful personality infuses the entire dining room with warmth and energy.
