The largest showcase of Austrian wine and perhaps the most elegant wine trade fair in the world, VieVinum takes place from 16 to 18 May 2026. The fair is a unique opportunity for Austrian winegrowers and connoisseurs from all over the world to meet, discuss and enjoy wine together.
VieVinum draws guests from all over the world to Vienna in mid-May 2026. Invited by Austrian Wine, international wine experts are able to verify the outstanding quality of Austrian wine for themselves at probably the most elegant wine fair in the world. Numerous supporting events complete every visit to this celebration of Austrian wine.
The central platform for the export success of Austrian wines
The aim of the whole experience, both within the framework of the trade fair and beyond, is to further drive the international market’s affinity for Austrian wine. VieVinum has been a central platform for the export success of Austrian wine since 1998 – a long-term project that is increasingly bearing fruit.

At lunchtime, Austrian Wine guests are invited to stop by the exclusive Austrian Wine restaurant to take a break and enjoy a business lunch. The spacious dining area ensures a relaxed atmosphere and two wine bars provide the perfect wine pairings. A great chance to try some traditional Austrian dishes!
The use of off-peak hours is recommended to avoid waiting times and to enjoy your lunch in a relaxed way.
Austrian Wine Lounge

The Austrian Wine team welcomes guests to the Austrian Wine Lounge for individually organised meetings. The team at the service desk is also available to look after any queries or concerns. This space also features a working area with WiFi, Laptops and printer, as well as a cosy main lounge area for taking a break.
Flight Tasting

Once again this year, the exclusive seated tasting of around 100 Austrian wines will take place on the previous day of the fair. Under the motto ‘Terroir Talks’, the tasting, organised into 22 exciting flights, explores the diverse facets of terroir. Topics such as ‘Grüner Veltliner: Shaped by Origin’, ‘Limestone & Slate: Shaping Structure’ and ‘Styrian Sauvignon Reloaded’ impressively demonstrate how origin shapes the character of a wine.

To kick-off VieVinum, Austrian Wine is hosting a warm welcome event to greet and receive more than 400 international guests. The magnificent column hall of the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) and the Salonplafond offer a fascinating blend of modernity and history that enchants our visitors. Wine bars with various exciting themes, accompanied by a diverse selection of culinary delights and DJ Crazy Sonic, create the perfect atmosphere for a successful start.
Austrian Wine Update with Chris Yorke

Chris Yorke, CEO of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board (Austrian Wine), presents the latest developments on Austrian wine. This is followed by the awarding of the international Bacchus Award. With this award, Austrian Wine honours people in the international wine business for their outstanding contributions to Austrian wine.
Terroir Talks: Exploring Austrian Origin Through the Eyes of ASI Top Sommeliers

Venue: Schatzkammersaal
Three top sommeliers – Raimonds Tomsons (ASI Best Sommelier of the World), JorisGutierrez Garcia (ASI Best Sommelier of the Americas), and Reeze Choi (ASI Best Sommelier of Asia & Pacific) – offer a 75-minute introduction to the diverse expressions of Austrian terroirs.
Using three grape varieties, they demonstrate how these wines develop differently across various wine regions, soils, and climatic conditions, revealing unique characteristics in each context.
