Swedish DipWSET Ulrika Ferlin fell in love with Italy's food and wine scene and moved to Barolo in 2014, and this is where she currently has her base. With a long background in the restaurant industry and several years of experience in some of Stockholm's top restaurants, Ulrika graduated as a sommelier in 2013. The same year she also won the title of Sweden's best female sommelier - the Lily Bollinger Award.
In Italy, Ulrika came to work for one of Barolo’s most renowned wineries where she developed and established a new hospitality program which, thanks to innovative ideas and educational concepts, became a model for winery hospitality in the area today. At present Ulrika works as a wine consultant for Italian wine producers and wine importers from Sweden. She also teaches WSET levels 1, 2, and 3, as she is a certified WSET Educator. Ulrika is also a certified Langhe Wines Ambassador and Valpolicella Wine Specialist.
With her knowledge of Piedmont and her close connections with its wineries, Ulrika is a valued organizer of specialized Piedmont wine tours and tastings and masterclasses about the region for the Scandinavian audience. She also writes about Italian wines for one of Sweden’s biggest wine magazines, Livets Goda.
