"We are truly honored and thrilled to be part of the first French edition of these prestigious awards, celebrating the Best Rhône Wine List and also the most sustainable list," says Delphine Frey, Head of Marketing & Communication.

Domaines Paul Jaboulet Aîné was founded in 1834, and today the estate is considered one of the most iconic producers in the Rhône Valley. With wines like La Chapelle, they have both put northern Rhône on the international wine map and established their status as a quality producer.

Since the property was taken over by the Frey family in 2006, with winemaker Caroline Frey at the helm, they have purposefully invested in organic and biodynamic production methods. The domain holds more than 120 hectares in many of the Rhône Valley's best vineyards.

What do you look forward to with Star Wine List of the Year France?
"We are thrilled to connect with fellow passionate restaurateurs. As ambassadors of the Rhône Valley, we eagerly anticipate unveiling the establishment that has curated the most exceptional wine list highlighting our region this year."

Why is it important for you to support sommeliers and gastronomy?
"We always say that sommeliers are our first and best ambassadors. Supporting sommeliers and gastronomy is at the core of our values at Paul Jaboulet Aîné. We believe that the art of winemaking and the expertise of sommeliers go hand in hand to create memorable dining experiences. Collaborating with Star Wine List allows us to celebrate and elevate the craft of sommeliers, fostering a deeper appreciation for the intricate pairing of our Rhône Valley wines with exceptional culinary creations."

Looking forward - what is happening with Paul Jaboulet this year?
"In 2024, we will shift our attention back to our historical roots, emphasizing our heritage with a renewed focus on Northern Rhône wines. 2024 will also be a key year for our historical Côtes-du-Rhône brand, Parallèle 45 with a brand new identity and a broader distribution."

And what are your plans for the future?
"We plan to uphold our commitment to quality both in the vineyard and in the cellar, placing special emphasis on obtaining the regenerative agriculture label in France and initiating the B Corp certification process. Additionally, we are extremely excited about our project to build a new winery in Tain l’Hermitage dedicated to our new estate Domaine de La Chapelle, serving as the perfect setting for our iconic La Chapelle cuvée."
