A brief history of Diecibrente: when Matteo returned to the winery in 2015 he wanted to start bottling a truly great single vineyard wine. He and his father identified this particular vineyard in Trontano. However, for the first few vintages, they only used part of the grapes from that site, the total production was 500 liters (one tonneau). 500 liters correspond to ten brente (a brenta is the local word for 50 liters of wine). Thus the name diecibrente (10 brentas). Cantine Garrone has now expanded production of this cuvée to include the entire vineyard and over 2000 liters are produced (which would be forty brente, but the name remains .
