The Alley

The Alley is a small corner restaurant in Kallio, where eye-catching posters and bottles lined up on the walls create a cool neighbourhood bistro vibe. The menu is compact, with many dishes using Asian and Middle Eastern flavours.

The by-the-glass list is short, but the bottle list adds more depth, featuring mostly small artisanal growers and low-intervention winemakers. The list has a somewhat French focus but also shows other interesting parts of the world, and each region’s unique varieties. The pricing is also decent for Helsinki and thus The Alley fits Kallio well, adding its own charm to the neighbourhood’s trendy atmosphere.
