About Semilla
Since opening in 2012 on the Rue de Seine, Semilla has established itself as one of the 6th arrondissement’s benchmark addresses – particularly on the wine front, which is no small feat in a neighbourhood that has grown considerably more competitive since.
Behind the deliberately raw, industrial décor that once set it apart, the sommelier steers a cellar of over 200 references, a significant portion of which is available by the glass – a detail that turns every visit into an unencumbered opportunity for discovery. The selection leans firmly on the trustworthy: Loire natural veterans, Rhône and Jura stalwarts, unjustly underrated Burgundian appellations, and a handful of sweet and late-harvest gems for the nostalgically inclined – all proposed without a hint of snobbery, and supported by a reliable, carefully sourced kitchen that always includes a vegetarian option for every course. In the evening, a five-course tasting menu comes with a wine pairing at 50 Euros – remarkable value for one of Paris’s most gilded postcodes.
All in all, an address that has earned its place among the city’s quietly timeless.
