About Marche Bacchus
It is hard to believe you are still in Las Vegas when you come to sit lakeside at Marche Bacchus. This retail store and restaurant is a hidden gem of the Las Vegas suburbs. Worthy of a drive for an afternoon or early evening meal, the restaurant is best enjoyed sitting outside, next to the neighbourhood’s man-made lake, Desert Shores.
Jeff Wyatt has long owned and overseen this French-focused restaurant. While one may think the wine list would focus on classics of the Old World, with the name Marche Bacchus, Jeff has chosen his selections mostly around their critical acclaim. Most wines in the retail shop or wine list score some 90+ accolades from well-known publications. To most, this makes choosing very easy. If it passed Jeff’s criticism, as well as some wine writers, it should be great. You can be confident that the wines which make the list are well revered and represent a pricing structure that supports locals. That is to say, you won’t be overcharged for most bottles. If you are looking for obscure or unique offerings here, they may be few and far between, since the selections are meant to move quickly due to notoriety over discovery.
