About Haili
Haili, a French restaurant in Kaohsiung, is tucked away on the second floor of a townhouse near the Hanshin Department Store district. Created by chef William, its understated exterior features nothing more than a rusted iron sign on a large concrete wall and a discreet doorway leading to the dining space upstairs – easy to miss if you're not paying attention.
The menu reflects the chef's rich culinary background, showcasing a distinctive personal style. French cuisine is infused with Japanese influences and highlights elements of Kaohsiung's harbour city charm, offering dishes that are both refined and heartfelt.
The restaurant's sommelier, Jack, collaborates closely with the chef to curate a variety of beverage-pairing options. These include wine pairings, sake pairings, non-alcoholic pairings, and a comprehensive six-glass full pairing. Each option is thoughtfully designed to enhance the flavours of the dishes and elevate the overall dining experience, making it a must-try for guests seeking the perfect accompaniment to their meal.
