Despite skepticism from other vignerons, he meticulously propagated these lesser-known vines, ultimately shaping a new era in American winemaking. His dedication to crafting world-class Rhône-style wines has earned him international recognition, including being named "the spiritual and qualitative leader of the movement" by Robert Parker.
