There are many options for Italian in Las Vegas, but none which live and breathe true Italian culture and love of all things Italy more than Ferraro’s. Owned by Gino Ferraro, his partner – and son – Mimmo takes the helm the kitchen. This is an easy-to-get-to restaurant from any part of town, but certainly from the Strip. If you love Italian cuisine, and food and wine experiences, this should be your first stop in Las Vegas.

Do not overlook the traditional Roman pasta dishes of Amatriciana or Carbonara. If Mimmo is in the kitchen, you can guarantee they will be purely traditional. Why does this matter? Italian wines always have tension that plays amazingly with the sour and sweet elements of traditional cuisine.

While a reservation is not required, this place is loved equally by locals and tourists, so best to nab a table in advance to avoid a wait.

The point of Ferraro's is 'all things Italian' – wine included. They are, of course, deep on verticals and horizontals from every major producer and region in Italy. However, the oft-overlooked regions are of note here, too. The list is overseen day-to-day by sommelier Jodie Hellman, who works tirelessly to showcase the amazing selection, which has gained this restaurant Tre Bottiglia from Gambero Rosso. Examples from Sardinia, Calabria and Sicily are particular highlights. If you prefer New World, do not fret: you can get plenty of California options here, as Gino knows his audience. He wants you to have a great time, which will eventually allow exploring his deep cellar of Italian favourites. The by-the-glass list is comprehensive too. Viva Italia!
