Beckon Wine List
About Beckon
Beckon could very well have been named ‘bastion,’ as it is most certainly that – a bastion of world-class culinary and beverage artistry. I don’t think anybody was surprised when they were awarded a Michelin Star (one of Denver’s first) for their tasting menu experience. While arguably a special occasion place, I’d encourage you to make dining at Beckon the occasion (rather than waiting for some annual celebration). In addition to their chef’s counter seating, they also have a covered patio with heaters, fire pits and furs that evokes a modern version of Lord of the Rings.
But for true wine lovers (and if you’re reading this, I have to assume you are), you’ll want to snag the near impossible ‘Sommelier’s Salon,’ an intimate backstage table for two in the wine room adjacent to the chef’s counter. Their wine list is thoughtful and extensive with a leaning towards France and Italy. Their Champagne section covers amazing growers and smaller producers. Burgundy features strongly in France, with plenty of representation in Bordeaux, Rhône Valley, Alsace and more. Italy focuses on Piedmont and Tuscany. You’ll also find favourites from Germany, Austria, the USA, and more.
No visit to Beckon is complete without a selection of Madeiras from their extensive collection, some 40 strong and dating as far back as 1875.
