About Tavernetta
Tavernetta may arguably be one of the most exceptional restaurants in the country. And it’s not only because of the incredible quality of their cuisine and their ethereal, seasonal handmade pastas.
There are a few secret staples for those in the know. Their ‘caccio e pepe’ is arguably their best pasta (and best kept secret – it’s always available on request even though you won’t see it on the dining menu). Similarly, their ‘spaghetti all'amatriciana’ (though only available during happy hour) is better than any I’ve had, including in Rome’s best pasta restaurant. And speaking of happy hour, you’re going to want (or perhaps need) a reservation in the bar, even if just for happy hour.
Beyond their incredible cuisine is their abject and perfect commitment to hospitality. Partner and Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey is well known for his famous quote: “service is what you do to someone, hospitality is how you make someone feel.” With that mantra in mind, the hospitality (and service) at Tavernetta is consistently impeccable. Diners are treated as royalty whether enjoying a casual lunch in the bar, a happy hour cocktail and nibbles, or a full-on multi-course dinner.
As for the wine list, it should come as no surprise that their extensive wine program is nearly exclusively Italian outside of their immense, six-page shrine to Champagne (representing nearly 20% of their selections). Expect all styles and price points as their list tours you throughout Italy, from north to south and all points in between. Organised regionally, it’s a beautiful blend of classic and modern Italian producers including all of the expected, and plenty of hidden gems and indigenous varieties. From wine to food to service to hospitality, Tavernetta is THE place to impress a business client, friend, date, or colleague.
