Star Wine List of the Year Belgium 2024
Star Wine List of the Year returns to Belgium on 17 November, to celebrate the country's best wine lists – and the teams behind them.
Entries to the 2024 awards are now open.
All restaurants and wine bars in Belgium are welcome to enter, free of charge.
Our Belgian awards ceremony marks the fifth event on our 2024-2025 international tour, honouring wine lists across the globe. The event will be held in Ghent on 17 November in conjunction with the Best Sommelier of Belgium competition.
Winners of our international categories will qualify for the Star Wine List International Final in June 2025. Find out more below.
These awards are open to all restaurants and wine bars in Belgium, free of charge.
Star Wine List of the Year Belgium 2024
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing each category.
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
• Best Long List
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
Fewer than 200 references.
• Best Sparkling Wine List
• Best By the Glass List, presented by Young Charly
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List
For the Sustainable Wine List category, we evaluate not just the wine list, but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a questionnaire within the application.
RECURRING CATEGORIES:
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
