For the second year in a row, FZN by Björn Frantzén in Dubai has been awarded a Gold Star for its selection of sparkling wines, at Star Wine List of the Year UAE 2025.

In a category supported by Perrier-Jouët, Amal Raj Mohan presented a Gold Star to FZN’s Head Sommelier, Kyle Barton and Assistant General Manager, Christopher Sachse.

“Perrier-Jouët is thrilled to be part of the Star Wine List of the Year competition because it is more than an award,” says Amal, Brand Ambassador for the Champagne house. “It’s a celebration of the people and places that shape wine culture. This platform shines a spotlight on sommeliers, their creativity, and the curated wine lists that elevate dining experiences. For Perrier-Jouët, this is an opportunity to honour those who share our passion for craftsmanship and gastronomy. By sponsoring the Best Sparkling Wine List category, we’re not just showcasing our cuvées, we’re supporting a community that values individuality, terroir, and the art of pairing. It’s about inspiring dialogue, discovery, and raising the standard of Champagne appreciation in the UAE.”

Judge Mikk Parre commented that FZN by Björn Frantzén boasts a “meticulously crafted and exceptionally informative list of sparkling wines. We can find both classics and rare, cult Champagne verticals, complemented by broad and well-considered by-the-glass and international selections.”

It was another successful year for the restaurant’s team, which also took a Gold Star for the Best Long List – once again, for the second year running. The restaurant will now be entered into the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, to compete against other winning sparkling selections from around the world when this season’s awards tour reaches its climax, next summer.

Amal adds that the UAE “is witnessing a surge in Champagne appreciation, with a growing community of enthusiasts, sommeliers, and fine dining lovers embracing both iconic houses and artisanal grower champagnes. Amid this vibrant landscape, Perrier-Jouët stands out as a true symbol of elegance and individuality.”
