About The Village Pub
Michelin-starred Village Pub in Woodside is definitely not a contemporary restaurant by any stretch of the imagination, and achieves what many restaurants attempt, but few succeed at; Village Pub is perhaps the Bay Area’s most lived-in, timeless fine-dining restaurant. This is the peak of old-school luxury: crushed velvet booths, soft-lighting, vested captains and a general sense that when you’re there, time is dilating, and perhaps drifting back to a quieter, more genteel time. The wine list is massive, and weighed towards the classics, but always possesses a good balance between big-boy marquee bottlings from top producers in Europe and the Americas, as well as some value gems from less heralded zip codes. Likewise, the kitchen can produce multi-course prix fixe menus, but you can also enjoy a pub burger at the bar. While it is about 40 minutes from SF proper, it’s a good place to visit if you’re staying in the City and either headed out to Santa Cruz wine country.
