Star Wine List of the Year South Africa 2025 - enter now
In February 2025, Star Wine List will celebrate the great wine lists of South Africa for the third time.
Our online event will take place on 24 February 2025, as the ninth stop on the Star Wine List of the Year international tour.
Applications will be welcomed from all restaurants and wine bars in South Africa and, as with all Star Wine List awards, entry is completely free of charge.
Winners in the international categories will automatically qualify for entry into the Star Wine List of the Year International Final, in June 2025.

Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list of the overall competition.
• Best Long List
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
Fewer than 200 references.
• Best By the Glass List
• Best Sparkling Wine List
• Best Newcomer List
• Sustainable Wine List
Recognises a wine list that has put extra emphasis on the wine program’s overall impact, including vine growing, winemaking, packaging and transport. Assessed via a questionnaire during the application process.
