Star Wine List of the Year Ireland 2024
On 15 October we will return to Ireland to celebrate the best wine lists and the teams behind them for the second time. All restaurants and wine bars in Ireland are welcome to enter, free of charge.
Star Wine List of the Year will be held in Waterford on 15 October, and it is the fourth event on our 2024-2025 International tour of wine list celebrations.
How to register?
The awards are open for all restaurants and wine bars in Ireland, free of charge.
Last day to enter was Tuesday 27 August 2024
Top Wine expert jury
The jury for Ireland is filled with international top names from the wine world.
• Reeze Choi, Third Best Sommelier of the World 2023 (ASI)
• Julie Dupouy-Young, several times named the Best Sommelier of Ireland
• Valeria Gamper, Best Sommelier of the Americas 2022 (ASI)
Categories and criteria
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: Vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category. The Jury will soon be announced.

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORIES:
• Grand Prix
The best list overall
• Best Long List
For wine lists with more than 600 references.
• Best Medium-Sized List
200-600 references.
• Best Short List
Less than 200 references.
• Best Sparkling Wine List, presented by Piper-Heidsieck
• Best By the Glass List
• Sustainable Wine List, presented by Torres
For the Sustainable Wine List category, not only the wine list is evaluated, but also the stated actions of the venue, as described through a questionnaire in the application.
RECURRING CATEGORIES:
• Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine
• Best California Wine List, presented by Louis M. Martini
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
