About Restaurant Perceel
Located just 25 minutes from Rotterdam Central by car, you’ll find Restaurant Perceel, next to the IJssel, a branching river starting in the Maas, which floats all the way from France through Rotterdam and ending up in the North Sea.
Perceel, opened in 2010 by Jos Grootscholten and Sharon Tettero has held a Michelin star since 2012. Chef Jos has worked at the three-starred Noma and Martín Berasategui, and the one-starred Beluga. Sommelier Sharon has had almost the same career path – except for Beluga, she has worked at all the same restaurants as Jos, plus Savelberg, now located in Central Park, Voorburg – another wine lovers’ Michelin-starred restaurant.
Perhaps that is why their wine list is so diverse and not like your average Dutch Michelin restaurant.. You rarely see Michelin restaurants in the Netherlands with such a balanced, diverse and in-depth wine list (with a few exceptions, of course – notably, de Librije).
The list at Perceel consists of around 600 references, and over 20 wines by the glass. Whether you’re looking for Jura, Burgundy, Mosel or Wachau, you’ll find the best artisanal wine growers, including different cuvées and in-depth vintages.
The wine list is ever-changing and a special mention needs to go to their Coravin selection; they tend to serve some really hard-to-find wines by the glass and, if you’re hoping for a glass of something you see on the main list, just ask!
There is a wine pairing available, but honestly, why would you even consider it when there is such a list to choose from?
They use Riedel Veritas glasses, which should make every wine lover happy.
