Visselulles Vinbar wins Best By the Glass List in Denmark 2024
Sønderborg wine bar Visselulles Vinbar has been awarded a Gold Star for the Best By the Glass List the country, at the Star Wine List of the Year Denmark awards in Copenhagen.
“Who does La Tache, Ramonet and Domaine Leflaive by the glass? Visselulles Vinbar, that’s who,” says Star Wine List judge Doug Frost MW MS.
“Most of us will never be able to afford a bottle of such famed and rare wines but a glass is within reach from this remarkable list. Honestly, it isn’t just the lofty wines – there are the very affordable ones too, and everything in between. It’s a feast!!”
Owner and sommelier Kristian Lykke-Krogh was presented with a Gold Star at a ceremony on Monday, 2 September. "It’s insane being nominated and it’s insane winning," he said on-stage. "We are every day working with a lot of wine, nearly 150 wines by the glass, so this is very nice."
The award was presented by Mattia Pagliasso from the category's sponsor, Italian winery Ceretto. "At Ceretto we speak about Barolo, we speak about Barbaresco," Pagliasso told the audience. "A by-the-glass list is not immediately the first step towards our wine but, in the future, the goal is to have Barolo and Barbaresco by the glass as much as possible - a fuller representation of these tastes would be great."

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in summer 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
