The Best Long List in Spain 2025 goes to Ambivium

Peñafiel's Ambivium has received a Gold Star for the Best Long List at Star Wine List of the Year Spain 2025 as well as the event's highest honour: the Grand Prix.
At a ceremony held at Barcelona Wine Week, Ambivium was named the winner of the Best Long List in the country, a category sponsored by Bodega Numanthia.
Judge Raimonds Tomsons praised Ambivium’s wine list, calling it “a paradise for every wine lover and professional” for including an incredible selection of both Spanish and international wines in all colours, styles and formats. Raimonds especially lauded the reasonable prices, serious verticals and back vintages.
The Ambivium team was later handed a second Gold Star in the Grand Prix, which awards the best wine list overall, chosen from the winners of the Best Short, Medium and Long List categories.

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
