Norway’s Park Hotel Vossevangen wins the international Grand Prix 2025

The Star Wine List of the Year International Final 2025 was held in Vienna on 16 June, attended by finalists from 21 countries eager to find out who would win one of our global Gold Stars. And the overall winner? Norway’s Park Hotel Vossevangen.
Following competitions in 18 territories worldwide, this year’s Star Wine List of the Year tour culminated in Vienna on Monday, with Gold Stars awarded across our international categories. The highest honour of the competition, the Grand Prix, went to Park Hotel Vossevangen in Voss, whose extensive wine selection also earned the titles of Best Long List and Best By the Glass List.
The Grand Prix is decided between the winners of the Best Long, Medium-Sized and Short List categories. This Gold Star was presented to the hotel’s Restaurant Manager Robert Russel Rosales Johansen by Stefanie Lobner, Managing Director of the category’s sponsor, Premium Estates of Austria.
Jury member Toru Takamatsu MS said that the list “would have any wine lover reading for the whole meal. From classics to low-intervention wines, and with such modest prices and extreme vintage depth, it’s 566 pages of so much fun.”

Categories and criteria
Star Wine List judges the wine lists in several categories such as the Best Sparkling Wine List and Best By the Glass List. These categories are the same across all of the awards. In addition, local categories may be added. We have commercial partners for certain categories, such as the Best Austrian Wine List, presented by Austrian Wine. The commercial partners are, however, never involved in the selections of finalists or winners — that is completely up to our independent jury panel.
The criteria for the jury are straightforward but not simple: vote for the most exciting wine list representing the category.
The winners in the international categories will qualify for our International Final in June 2025, where they will face off with the category winners from other countries and continents.
