Le Taillevent Wine List

About Le Taillevent

Le Taillevent is one of the grand restaurants of wine in Paris, if not the world. Dating back to 1946 and carrying two Michelin stars, it is undoubtedly a classic. And whereas ‘classic’ can mean a bit dull at some restaurants, we were charmed by the joyful and festive atmosphere at Le Taillevent on a recent lunch visit – guests were thoroughly enjoying themselves. The restaurant itself states that service should be “a ceremony more wonderful than intimidating” and we wholly agree.

Wine-wise, where do we begin? The sommelier team is obviously first rate, exemplifying the long-standing tradition – and skill – of building a great cellar. Although the Bordeaux selection is top notch (and the same goes for Champagne), it is Burgundy which is at the heart of this list.

Le Taillevent also has some serious wine pairings alongside its menus, and by-the-glass offering is both wide and superb.

  • This Bordeaux wine list is exceptional in several ways: a very fine selection of high-quality white Bordeaux; incredible verticals across a large number of great wines as well as certain less-renowned estates; many wines offered in ready-to-drink vintages. This wine list is testimony to the huge amount of work done by the restaurant, initiated a long time ago, to ensure continued transmission. [Star Wine List of the Year France 2025]

  • This is an exceptional long list – intellectually serious, beautifully balanced, and profoundly generous to the guest. A true reference wine list on the world stage. [Gold Star: Best Long List, Star Wine List of the Year France 2026.]
