About Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire

A French fine dining restaurant on the second floor of Capella Hotel. The building is nestled in the last remaining cluster of Shikumen stone townhouses, reminding people of the golden era of Shanghai during the 1930s. This is the first restaurant in mainland China of renowned Michelin starred chef Pierre Gagnaire, who focuses on quality, local ingredients and the reinterpretation of traditional French cooking.

Le Comptoir’s interiors are based on Parisian salons and inspired by the old-world glamour of Shanghai. The team of sommeliers will provide you with excellent service, and the seats by the window offer a beautiful view of the city.

About the Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire Wine List

The list includes over 300 wines of different styles and regions, mostly from classic French wine regions like Burgundy, Loire Valley, Bordeaux and Alsace, that pair well with the expressive dishes.

The most popular wines are some delightful Burgundy and Alsace white. You may also find some back vintages by glass thanks to the use of Coravin. The afternoon tea and the desserts have got many fans in town, and the Champagne list is quite excellent as well.
