Forty opened in 2019 as a second wine project of the owner of Ale Wino!, one of the most popular wine bars in Warsaw. Forty is located in Mokotów, an old district not far from the city centre. Forty means ”fortress” and the restaurant is located in an old 14th-century building.
This is a big, spacious wine bar with a high ceiling and large windows. The food is simple but full of flavour – from small suppliers of organic products. There is also a bar in the middle, suggesting Forty puts some extra attention to cocktails. Forty is an old fortification, and you need to take a taxi to get here.

Forty Wine List
Forty is all about small producers under the radar. The wine list has around 150 wines by the bottle and 32 wines by the glass. Biodynamic and natural wines are strong here, as well as the Champagne selection. You’ll also find some gems from Chablis, Jura, Sancerre and Languedoc, but also great producers from both Europe and the New World. There are some Polish wines available too.
