About Fino Vino
Locals are well versed in the Fino Vino story. The original Fino (a restaurant in Willunga), was started by owner/operator duo David Swain and Sharon Romeo, and was an award-winning McLaren Vale institution known for its uncomplicated, communal and delicious approach to regional fare. Years later, they expanded into the Adelaide CBD, bringing with them a philosophy centre on provenance and the simplicity of sharing a meal.
Against the energy of a busy inner-city location, with plenty of drama from an open kitchen, David and Sharon provide finely crafted experiences from the food to the wine list, and beyond, including the restaurant’s design and aesthetics. The interior contrasts exposed brick textures with soft leather benches, raw ceilings surfaces with marble tables. There is also a bar for casual drinkers.
A three-, four- or six-course tasting menu, designed to share, can be ordered. When it comes to wine, Sharon provides direction for the collection. Again, the approach is uncomplicated, concise, and favours light- to medium-bodied wines from South Australia’s regional producers. There are also some good references to France and Italy.
Lunch or dinner at Fino Vino delivers on the natural affinity between food and wine shared in good company.
