Enoteca Turi Wine List
About Enoteca Turi
Former sommelier Giuseppe Turi opened Enoteca Turi in 1990 and, along with his wife Pamela, still runs it today. Situated between Pimlico, Belgravia and Sloane Square, this is a super fine address and although smart, it exudes the warmest Italian welcome. It’s hard to pick fault with the wine list—the 500 or so references cover every price point and region of Italy, plus some grand marque and grower Champagnes. Bottles start at £25.50 (a bargain for not only this part of town but London in general) and go up to four figures. Breadth and depth across the board and all the names, from Super Tuscans (back vintages of Solaia, verticals of Tignanello) to Gravner and Soldera. Each bottle has a detailed description on the producer and production, with absolutely no generic flavour descriptors in sight, making it a fascinating read of itself. Organic wines (of which there are plenty) are clearly marked. It shows great understanding of wine, and a cellar that’s been carefully built over time with knowledge and passion.
