Enoteca San Guido Wine List
About Enoteca San Guido
For a wine lover, a visit to Bolgheri is a dream come true. Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Le Macchiole - the distances are short, and more and more ambitious restaurants are opening in the area. One of the classic stops is Osteria San Guido, which belongs to Tenuta San Guido. Here Lorenzo Fabbri stands in the kitchen. He grew up in Bolgheri but took a turn around the globe before deciding to come back.
"I have travelled and worked in Japan, Morocco and Northern Europe. Even though this is a classic Tuscan osteria, there are international elements here and there in my dishes," he says. His "gnudi", translated as naked ravioli, consists of ricotta and spinach and is served in a tasty tomato sauce.
The wine list includes labels from most of the sixty wineries in Bolgheri, but perhaps best of all, there are older vintages of Sassicaia. "From 1990 onwards, we have almost all the vintages of Sassicaia", says Lorenzo Fabbri before saying he has to go. "I have a boat and go fishing as often as I can; that's the perfect thing about Bolgheri; you can enjoy both sea and land on the same day."
