With its festive atmosphere, this is the best downtown wine bar in Montréal – a favourite spot for business people from the surrounding offices. Come early if you want a seat – at the bar or at one of the small wooden tables. The design features industrial and minimalist décor with raw accents. On the culinary side, the menu offers small plates of seasonal cuisine and several boards, perfect for a bite before or after a show in one of the many theatres in the area. Furco features a DJ on weekend nights.
The list is very small, fun, and easy to navigate. It includes some fantastic bottles at great prices and around 20 references in large formats for sharing. You won't spend hours studying the wine list here, especially when you know that you are in good hands. It's a straightforward selection designed purely for enjoyment, and the list does not over-intellectualise wine more than necessary.
