Arakataka in central Oslo is a restaurant and wine bar which continues to build one of the most interesting wine lists in Oslo. In the restaurant a seasonal menu is offered while modern bar food is served in the more informal wine bar.
Arakataka Wine List
Arakataka’s wine list has an eclectic mix of contemporary and classic producers and there is always a good selection of interesting wines by the glass.
Arakataka has been one of the most beloved restaurants in Oslo for over a decade now. And while the restaurant is excellent, the real treat is their food bar, which is open from Wednesday to Saturday. Here you can grab a nice meal as late as 00.30 at night, the wine list is ridiculously good, and when you're finally kicked out, there are tons of other venues close by.
Last call: Sunday-Tuesday early, Wednesday-Saturday 00.30 (sometimes 01.30)
This place feels like home and is great for any occasion; if you want to get your hands dirty with pepper crab and riesling, or if you’re going all in and having everything on the menu. But mostly I end up in the bar – ‘matbaren’. Here you can order one small dish at the time while you look through the wine list, because that could take some time. I always have a hard time to decide what to get here because there are just too many goodies to choose from. Luckily the staff there has great taste and is always there to help.
