When you enter this wine restaurant you will feel like you have been transported a hundred years back in a time machine. Cosy & wood-panelled with a small terrace on the sidewalk.     The restaurant Klinker is located in Hoheluft close to the famous Ise market. Klinker is the name of the red bricks from which houses in Hamburg are traditionally built. The restaurant is famous for its sustainability. Nose to tail, Demeter vegetables from the farm of the owner and local produce are the key elements of the seasonal menu. The wine list is focused on natural and organic wines. The list holds a very nice selection of wines from Eastern Europe, as well as a strong selection of Germany and Austria.

    The famous Grill Royal in Berlin opened a second restaurant in Hamburg in the summer of 2023. The Grill Royal Hamburg is located in the city centre at the Balindamm with a beautiful view over the Alster. The main focus on the menu is steaks and seafood. Different cuts of US beef are aged in their own fridges. But also the famous lettuce from the Berlin Grill Royal is on the menu.     The Kiosque is located between Schanze and St. Pauli. Two of the hottest neighbourhoods for parties, dining and drinking in Hamburg. But also quite diverse. The Kiosque is a twin concept: A sourdough bakery and brunch pub during the day and a hip wine and pasta bar in the evening. Small plates to share, homemade bread and a cosy industrial vibe. The wine list offers around 100 labels with a nice mix of big names, small producers and natural wines. Nothing mainstream. Always ask for what else is by the glass for the day.

    The word ‘buddels’ is a typical term for ‘bottle’ in the northern part of Germany. Restaurant Buddels is located in Deichstraße (pronounced ‘Dykestrasse), the last remnant of old Hamburg. Most buildings here date from before the 19th century. Buddel offers a small menu, but one that has a strong focus on local products. There’s a lunch menu as well.     Estancia Steaks is a family-owned steak restaurant near the Town Hall in the city centre of Hamburg. The venue is a little hidden in a beautiful building called Afrika Haus. The restaurant opened in 1989 and is still owned by the two founders, Elisabeth Füngers und Steffen Hellmann. The restaurant extends over three floors.
