8 Stockholm Michelin stars’ wine lists 2024
One of the reasons we started Star Wine List was because we love to read wine lists before going out. This is especially true of the top restaurants where you want to spend the first part of dinner enjoying the amuses bouches, talking to the sommelier and the others at the table instead of plowing a massive wine list. We’re happy to present the wine lists for several Stockholm Michelin Star restaurants below.

When Restaurant Frantzén re-opened in September 2018, they quickly and justly gained a lot of attention, and only half a year later the restaurant was awarded three Michelin stars – the first and only three-star in Sweden. The venue itself is spacious and light, and the dining experience takes place in different rooms and different floors. One of Sweden’s best restaurants – Aloë was awarded two Michelin stars 2020 – is hidden among the villas in a Stockholm suburb. If you can find it, you’re rewarded with a very original and sometimes spicy cuisine with influences ranging from Japan to North Africa. I have been here a million times, it's no secret I think it's absolutely fabulous. The wine list has a good mix of old and new world wines, and a good beverage pairing. Swedish master chef Tommy Myllymäki opened the grand fine dining restaurant Aira during the hard spring of 2020 when things were looking really bad for the dining scene. The vision paid off despite this and Aira is well on its way to being a new classic in the city - beautifully located by the seaside on Djurgården. Carl Ishizaki's Sushi Sho caused a splash when they were awarded a Michelin Star for their Omakase and Tsumami, the chef’s choice of sushi and small dishes to die for. All is served over the counter at high speed, like a proper Tokyo hangout. It is essential to make reservations in advance.

Operakällaren in Stockholm’s Opera House is probably the most beautiful dining room in Sweden. And the service is like a scene from the Opera stage, professional, classic and warm. The menu is French-inspired, classical and executed at the highest level (one Michelin star).

Best Medium-Sized List of the Year Sweden 2024
The fire is still burning at Ekstedt, which was one of the first to use fire as the main source of energy in the kitchen. The ambiance is warm (!), the food is as good as ever and the service is friendly and professional. The Swedish celebrity chef Niklas Ekstedt has left the daily flow but the food here is consistently very good.

Adam/Albin is one of Stockholm’s hottest foodie-addresses. To go with the top notch-food and the great service, the wine list gives good Burgundy choices from village to Grand Cru along with a selection of wines from Bordeaux, California, Italy, Germany, Spain and Champagne.

Etoile is a fine dining restaurant near Norrtull in Stockholm. The name showed the ambitions and sure enough, a star in the Michelin Guide followed. Etoile goes for fun dining, a set menu with unexpected or even radical but tasty combos. The wine program has expanded since the start and showcases both classical and natural offerings, primarily from France, Germany and the US.
